What our guests say …

‘From the age of four, I went to school here; grew up here … Life may have taken me away, but I never really left …’

St Andrews. Esteemed throughout the world, this ancient town is not only the Home of Golf but home, too, to the oldest university in Scotland. A town of immense history, to me it remains the custodian of my childhood. From the age of four, I went to school here; grew up here. My father, a proud member of the R&A, played golf here. I saw The Sound of Music in the beloved cinema, aged six; worked in the Woollen Mill every summer; ate ‘chittery bites’ on the West Sands … Life may have taken me away but I never really left, always returning with my own children.

Let me take you round the historic sites and famous landmarks on a tour full of facts and personal anecdotes; stories which bring the old town to life, highlighting the changes brought by the passing years. Choose West Sands - fun, obligatory!

Private Tour with Trish

Let me take you on a personal tour of an iconic town: the home of golf, the oldest university in Scotland and a wealth of history besides - including mine, and I love to chat!

A two-hour stroll round the town, we can tailor it to you but my version includes a bit of golf, university, the castle and the cathedral, inextricably linked to religion and the Scottish Reformation. Then, there’s my school days, what happened when, what should have happened and, of course, my beach! Facts and fun.

This private experience is designed for up to four guests and can be tailored to your interests. For bespoke tours or to accommodate additional guests, personalised arrangements are available upon request.

Premium Tour with Photography

Boasting a wealth of iconic backdrops, let Manny and his expertise capture that perfect shot of you at the castle, the cathedral or, perhaps, on the Swilcan Bridge? Remember, from a golfing lineage - and a golfer, himself - Manny has played the Old Course many times and enjoyed the hospitality of the R&A.

Facts, fun and photos ... and all rounded off with a complimentary drink at the Jigger Inn. Formerly, the old station master’s house, the Jigger Inn is famous among golfers and, full of character and charm, it lays claim to one of the best views in the world. Sit and share a glass with us in the beer garden - Scottish weather permitting - overlooking the ‘Road Hole’, the R&A clubhouse and the town beyond. Memories made and, hopefully, some new friends, too.

Designed for up to four guests, this exclusive experience includes a bespoke photo gallery and a complimentary drink to conclude your tour. Larger groups can be accommodated upon request, with tailored pricing available.
